Kim Pierce, Chief Operating Officer, Sober Solutions Recovery, LLC

Ms. Pierce has over 40 years experience in managing large organizations with a focus on medical and research clinics. 

Ms. Pierce spent the past 25 years at UCLA, as the Chief Executive Officer, managing the administration for 8 research departments that had an annual budget of over $25 million.   Her focus was helping faculty develop research grants for the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Energy, managing the finances for contracts, grants and state funding for the departments, both academic and staff personnel, accounting, facilities management and IT.  

For over 12 years Ms. Pierce was also the CEO of KRJ Consulting, Inc., which managed a non-profit organization, the Academy of Molecular Imaging, which was an organization of over 2500 physicians and researchers in the field of molecular imaging. The Academy merged with another society in 2011 and became the World Molecular Imaging Society. 

Ms. Pierce’s main goal was to help the members learn about the latest research in molecular imaging by putting on a conference in different parts of the world annually.  KRJ Consulting had 4 employees who were involved in every aspect of the conference, as well as, handling the marketing, large exhibits, program development and accounting. 

Ms. Pierce’s extensive experience in the field of health administration is integral to the overall operation of SSR including day-to-day operations, strategy and eventual expansion as well as promoting and sustaining a positive, close-knit culture for the SSR team.

Shannon Reese, Managing Partner, Sober Solutions Recovery, LLC

With 15 years of experience in the field of Nursing, Ms Reese has worked in Interventional Radiology, In Patient Transport and Emergency Room medicine at UCLA Medical Center and Cedar Sinai Hospital.  

Ms Reese’s extensive medical knowledge and background has afforded her the opportunity to teach several classes for the UCLA medical center. Her experience with addicts and alcoholics began working with adolescent addicts at the age of 15 when she started volunteering at Scripps McDonald Center in San Diego. Over the years, she has worked with the San Diego school district bringing panels into multiple high schools to educate students about the preventable consequences of untreated drug and alcohol addiction.   

Ms. Reese’s passion for health and wellness of individuals struggling with alcoholism and addiction led to the inception of SSR in 2015.

 

Jeffrey Mayer, Director of Operations, Sober Solutions Recovery, LLC

Jeffrey has an exceptional ability to empower individuals to overcome personal obstacles that arise within the addiction recovery process.

Using clinically tested and evidenced-based interventions, Jeff has successfully worked with thousands of individuals and families over the past two decades. He has participated in the development, organization, operation and maintenance of addiction recovery treatment programs including but not limited to Detoxification, Inpatient, Outpatient and Transitional Living. 

Jeffrey is a regular guest in the addiction recovery community, speaking to establishments from the East to West coasts on a multitude of addiction topics ranging from gambling to executive functioning skill development, substance use disorder diagnosis and treatment.

He maintains a well established, tremendously respected reputation within all addiction treatment provider levels of care.  He reports his greatest reward is helping individuals explore ways to make the changes in their lives that will allow them to look forward to the future with hope.
